Travel dates will be as follows: June 14 and June 22.

Our two groups all depart Memphis Tuesday, June 14 ranging from 6:30 to 9:00 a.m., arriving in Honolulu from 1:45 to 3:15 p.m. local time. Total elapsed time from Memphis departure to Honolulu landing is about 11 hours. (Honolulu is 5 hours “behind” local time—they don’t observe daylight savings time--so your 3:15 landing will feel like 8:15 p.m.) Air fare is $619.00 per ticket. Final advance payment on the airline charges are due on May 5. You can give me a copy of your credit card (ensure I can read the numbers) or a check payable to YMCA JOVB. DO NOT send credit card information in an e-mail--it is not secure.

Sadly, we must eventually return home. Our return flights are scheduled to leave Honolulu 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, June 21, arriving back in Memphis between 1:35 and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.

Mini-vans have been reserved at $349 total with taxes..pay when you arrive. Parking is available at the Aston’s underground garages, but you’ll be within walking distance of the beach. However, transportation will be needed to the gym, Hanauma Bay (snorkeling/coral park), the North Shore of Oahu to see the big surfing waves or Pearl Harbor. Shopping is available at Waikiki Beach.

The Aston condominiums are not plush, but reasonably comfortableand can sleep four (if my memory is correct, 2 will be sleeping on a pull-out sofa, which is less comfortable.) They have full kitchens including dishes & utensils. As much as I trust you, I’d prefer that each room contain an adult with a stun gun. The rooms will not likely be anywhere adjacent to each other…probably scattered all around the 50-floor building. The heated swimming pool is on an upper deck, but with the ocean 2 blocks away, who cares?

Here’s a link to the facility, so you can read it all yourself: Aston Waikiki Sunset Price is $153.76 per night x 7 nights= $1,076.32 per room. Final advance payment on the room charges are also due on May 5. You can give me a copy of your credit card (ensure I can read the numbers) or a check payable to YMCA JOVB. I have already paid your 1st night deposit on your room, credited at check-in, so you will need to pay $153.76 to me and the rest ($922.56) will be charged to your credit card.

Volleyball playing dates (oh, I forgot to mention we are going to play in a volleyball tournament) are Saturday-Monday, June 18-20. We’ll go to a luau (about $75 each) one evening.

Summary of fees to pay by May 5:

$621.00 per airline ticket
$922.56 per condo room.
This can be paid via credit card.or check payable to YMCA JOVB. If you are splitting the cost of a room, just do the math and tell me how much to charge per credit card or give me a check for the total.
$153.76 per room payable to YMCA JOVB to reimburse for one night condo deposit already paid (again, if splitting the cost, just divide by the occupants)
