Orlando Information
Orlando issues: With 1150 teams at AAU's, parking will be a problem, so plan ahead & show up plenty early for your matches. 8:00 am. wave matches...plan on 7 a.m. arrivals to get decent parking & find your court at either the cavernous convention center or at the two Disney sites. (Think Atlanta, except spread-out more) Wear comfy shoes as you'll have a long walk regardless. If you have the PM wave, the AM wave folks will still be parked there, so plan to park even FARTHER AWAY....and arrive earlier. Disney usually has a valet parking option you may have to consider if you want to walk less than a mile. No, I'm not kidding.
Bags are checked pretty closely at Disney, less so at the convention center. Most don't allow you to bring in chairs...but you'll know after the 1st day. Concessions are always nearby and pricey.
Players: Be sure to bring ALL your uniforms to each match. It would be bad to have 1/2 show up in one color and 1/2 in another & have to forfeit a match. Coaches do not have enough spare uniform tops and we aren't allowed to change numbers easily. It's the player's responsibility to check her bag before she leaves home and again each day before heading to the gym. Be cautious about wearing flip-flops on a long walk at the theme park and getting blisters that prevent you from playing the next day...same goes for too much sun exposure. Sunscreen & comfortable shoes are important.
Micky loves you, even if you are a bit Goofy.
