FROM TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR:  Dear Coaches/Club Directors, It looks like we have everything set for this weekend.  First off, I want to thank each of you for being a part of our tournament.  We will do everything we can to make your teams feel welcome and we look forward to being their host. Here are some of the particulars. Tournament will be held at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN at the Sports Complex.  .  We will have a short captains meeting at 8:00 am with play starting at 8:30.  We are currently set with six team pools on
two courts each, so, you will either play or ref at 8:30.  At the captains meeting we will have a blind draw for pool seating.  Each match in pool play will be two games to 25 starting at 0.  The top two teams from pool play will play a two out of three match for the tournament championship.  No R1's are provided except for the championship match.  Especially, since we have kids and coaches officiating, good sportsmanship will be expected by all participants and fans.  We are all learning and in this together - let's have fun. There is bleacher seating for parents.  The main gym will have plenty and are very comfortable.  The aux gym will have plenty
but a little less comfortable and will have room for some outside chairs.  If teams are needing motel rooms, Henderson is limited to one nicer hotel, the Americanna Inn (about 6 blocks from the gym).  Phone is 731.989.0111, ask for Jay (female) for a rate of 62.95 for two queen beds.  Room with one queen is $54.95 and a King suite with whirlpool bath is $79.95.  Rooms have fridge and microwave.  I have not been in the rooms, so, please do not hold me accountable : ).  Jackson has a wide variety of hotels but will be about 30 minutes from the gym. Very important, Freed-Hardeman is offering their facilities free of charge to our club.  In return, they ask that no outside food be brought to the facility.  Their volleyball team will have concessions at very reasonable prices.  I please ask that you honor this one request.  I will enforce it and confiscate all food and drinks.  Think of going thru airport security with a waterbottle ; ).  Please help me and let your parents know the situation. Our goals are to provide you with a lot of volleyball (guaranteed 5 matches) at a very reasonable price.  Provide a fun, learning and relaxing atmosphere for all. I, and the Jackson Juniors, look forward to seeing the 15's/16's on Saturday and the 17's/18's on Sunday.

Freed-Hardeman is located in Henderson, TN. Home of Bell's Drive-In, voted as the best hamburger and shake in TN.

Bell's is only three blocks from the campus, a great place to go after the tournament. Great burgers, but not fast (they are cooked fresh).

Henderson, TN is 15 minutes South of Jackson, TN on highway 45 South. For directions to Henderson go to fhu.edu click on Visitors then click on Directions to Campus. We will be at the Sports Complex.

On highway 45, Henderson only has one street light, go East at light, Hwy 100, campus will be on your right after going thru small downtown area

Take right at first sign for Freed, take road to end (apprx 2 blocks) take left go one block and Athletic Complex is on right

After the tournament, please let me know what you think of the format. You will be playing a lot of matches in matches in a short time period.

Parents usually like this format with it being a shorter day. Again, I want this to be an enjoyable (maybe even a little more laid back) tournament for each of you.
