Arkansas Junior Olympic Volleyball Program Information |
|
| |

The Arkansas Junior Olympic Volleyball program is a privately-organized and funded program that began in 1985 as a training program for area high school players. Since that time, Arkansas Jrs. has competed in thousands of volleyball games across the country, with over 70 athletes receiving college volleyball scholarships totaling nearly $2 million.
As the longest-running and most-successful youth sports program in the Mid-South, this is an elite program requiring a significant committment from players and parents alike. This program requires a tremendous dedication of time and money. It is expected that team members abide by practice and event schedules with minimal absences. Since squads will typically practice twice weekly, a practice absence is equivalent to missing 2-3 days of daily school athletic practices.
Practice attendance will be kept. Players missing excessive practices will be dismissed from their team. Participating in too many conflicting sports or activities may prevent you from playing Arkansas Jrs. volleyball.
Elite team players must commit to completion of the season, including either the AAU National Championships or the Junior Olympic National Championships, in late June. Our program is committed to competition on a national scale as a method of improving volleyball in the state of Arkansas. Competing in these events is a necessity to achieve excellence for our program.
Conflicts may occur with school-based athletic and other extra-curricular programs. Players desiring to participate in the Arkansas Jrs. volleyball program should consider their capacity to compete in multiple activities simultaneously before making additional committments. We encourage student-athletes to be well-rounded with participation in academic, sport and fine arts programs of a quality nature. Parents must provide wise guidance as to their daughter's capacity for additional activities. Many players tend to reduce their number of sports as they grow older.
Parental involvement in the administration of this program has been minimized in an attempt to provide an objective, athlete-oriented youth sports program. A specific grievance procedure is in place to govern the actions of players & parents who find fault with issues regarding playing time decisions, team selection, etc. Players & parents are required to agree to follow this procedure in the event of a conflict as a condition of their participation in this program.
