NOTE: Our portion of the $100 registration fee (less the $35 USAV membership fee) will be refunded to players not selected for one of the teams. Players not selected for teams will not be allowed to continue to practice or participate in program activities. See the grievance procedure for details.

Program funds are spent primarily on registration fees, gym rent, tournament fees, travel/housing costs, and equipment/uniform expense. Coaches are currently unpaid for their services. A very small part of the budget will be spent on reimbursement of coaches’ tournament expenses on a per diem basis of about $25 plus their travel costs. A full report of all income and expenses is available at the end of the season. The program operates as an auxiliary unit of the Jonesboro YMCA and is covered in the YMCA annual independent audit. The YMCA charges no fee for its role in the program; its participation is another outreach of its youth service goals under the United Way of Greater Jonesboro. Dues are payable to "YMCA Jr. Olympic Volleyball."
Because of the sheer size of the program, fund-raising activities will be limited. The Club Director must approve special fund-raising activities (including donation solicitations).
The volunteer staff of the Arkansas Jrs. Volleyball program understands this program represents a significant financial commitment for the player and her family. However, when viewed over the course of a seven-month season, the monthly cost for a quality athletic experience should be considered a good investment on behalf of an elite female athlete. Arkansas Jrs. teams will typically be competing against other programs with fee schedules of up to $1,000 monthly.
Families considering participation in the Arkansas Jrs. Volleyball program must consider the total cost of the team travel schedule. Players typically spend an average of 10-12 nights in hotels each season, including 5 nights at one of the National Championships. Transportation to tournaments and practices is the responsibility of the player and her family. It is recommended that families concerned about travel costs consider alternating with other players’ families for tournament travel.
The coaching staff should not be considered as a source of transportation. Please make arrangements with other parents to pick up players from practices if the parent is delayed...we may be required to keep entire teams at the practice site until all parents arrive. Coaches may be occupied with other practices or gym duties and cannot monitor the activities of athletes before or after their practices at the gym. It is recommended that athletes use caution in public areas.
